The Son- A Christmas Spoken Word Piece

Isaiah 9:6 says “For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon His shoulders and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”

It’s the Christmas season

But it seems like we’ve gotten carried away by the festivities

So for a few minutes can we take our focus

Off the colors, lights, gifts

The pies, reindeers, elfs, gingerbread men,

And all that our fantasies has attached to Christmas.

Unto us a son is given!

This is the season where we were gifted

And given as gifts.

This is the season that marks our rebirth as Sons.

So beyond the Mary did you know and the Little drummer boy

Can we focus on the gift and what it made us- Sons

Oh who knew that the son would walk the seas and feed thousands from nothing

That He would speak life to the dead and freedom to the oppressed

That the spit from his mouth would bring healing

Well that’s because He is the Son!

And as we celebrate the season of His birth,

We celebrate our ticket to reconciliation,

The events that led to our coronation as heirs begins here!

And by the gifting of the Son, we’re reborn as sons.

We were gifted the Son of Man so we can become Sons of God.

So just like the son, I can do the impossible,

And feed thousands with pain avec sandwich

I can say to the dead talithacumi

And say to demons Bo ta jo

I can speak healings and work miracles

This is that season where all these provisions are made available to me

Because by the gifting of the son, I’ve become a son

So yes,

Unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon His shoulders and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace

But unto my family a child is born and unto nations a son is given and the government shall rest upon my shoulders, I am wonderful, a counselor, a mighty son of God with eternal life who speaks the peace of God!
